Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is couple therapy and how does it work?
Couple therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps couples improve their relationship by addressing the issues that are causing them distress, dissatisfaction, or conflict. It involves working with a trained and qualified therapist who helps the couple identify and understand their problems, explore their feelings and expectations, and develop new skills and strategies to cope with challenges and enhance their relationship. Couple therapy can help couples with various issues, such as communication problems, trust issues, infidelity, intimacy issues, conflict resolution, and more. -
How long does couple therapy last and how often do we need to attend sessions?
The duration and frequency of couple therapy depend on various factors, such as the nature and severity of the issues, the goals and preferences of the couple, and the progress and outcome of the therapy. Generally, couple therapy sessions last for about 50 minutes and are held once a week. However, this can vary depending on the needs and availability of the couple and the therapist. Some couples may need more or less sessions, or more or less frequent sessions, depending on their situation. The therapist will discuss this with the couple and agree on a suitable plan that works for them. -
How much does couple therapy cost and do you accept insurance?
The cost of couple therapy varies depending on the therapist’s qualifications, experience, and location, as well as the type and length of the sessions. Typically, couple therapy sessions range from NPR 2,000 to NPR 3,500 per session. However, this is just an estimate and the actual cost may differ depending on the therapist and the couple. The therapist will inform the couple of the exact cost before starting the therapy and will provide them with a receipt or invoice for their records. Some insurance companies may cover part or all of the cost of couple therapy, depending on the policy and the provider. The couple should check with their insurance company and their therapist to find out if they are eligible for reimbursement and what are the requirements and procedures for claiming it.
