I am Damber R. Bhatta, a clinical psychologist and the founder of Bhatta Psychotherapy in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Sanatana represents the fundamental, intrinsic nature of all beings:

  • Water flows

  • Each being has its dharma—its inherent way of being

If fire stops burning, it is no longer fire.
If water ceases to be liquid, it is no longer water.

In the same way, when a human being no longer embodies their fundamental nature, life becomes misaligned.
This deviation from our natural state is the root of suffering.

In modern life, most of us:

  • Repeat the same emotions and thoughts all day

  • Fight to change, but see no lasting change

  • Experience life flipped—illusion feels real, reality feels distant

The mind, which is just memories and worldly experiences, is limited, yet it tries to lead life, which is unlimited.
This is where confusion, conflict, and emotional pain arise.
