Therapy confidentiality
Psychotherapy sessions are confidential. Information you share in therapy is not disclosed without your consent, except where required by law or when there is a serious risk of harm to you or others. This follows professional ethical standards used in Nepal and internationally (including APA-aligned practice).
For more on what to expect in session, see our FAQ.
How your clinical records are stored
Clinical records are kept in a secure clinical portal built to HIPAA-ready and GDPR-aligned standards, encrypted in transit and at rest. Your file is not stored in email, spreadsheets, or messaging apps, and our practice’s records sit in their own separate database rather than shared tables. Access is by named clinician account with role-based limits rather than a shared clinic login, and every time a record is opened it is written to an audit trail. Video sessions run on an encrypted platform used only for clinical sessions, and sessions are never recorded or transcribed.
Session notes are written by your clinician. No identifying information about you is ever sent to any AI system.
For a plain-language explanation, see how we protect your information.
Website and contact information
When you contact us via this website, WhatsApp, phone, or our secure intake form, we use your details only to respond, schedule appointments, and provide care. We do not sell your personal data.
Intake, scheduling, and clinical records are handled through our secure clinical portal. Booking and reviews may also involve third-party services (for example Setmore or Google Maps for reviews), whose own privacy policies apply to data you submit there. We can tell you which providers process your information on request.
Sunila AI guide (website chat)
The Sunila chat on this site is an educational guide, not a therapy session. Please do not enter highly sensitive personal details in chat. Chat messages may be stored to improve service quality and safety; they are not equivalent to clinical records.
